Home care for capillary bronchitis

Capillary bronchitis is a common respiratory disease in children with a high prevalence, occurring throughout the year and peaking in the winter and spring. Cough, sputum and wheezing are the main manifestations of capillary bronchitis, and most children are in mild condition, but some are in severe condition and require infusion therapy, oxygen, or hospitalization. The children with relatively light conditions can be treated with medication and nebulization according to the doctor’s orders, and their families need to observe changes in their condition and pay attention to home care. 1, to maintain a good environment at home: the room where the child lives should be warm, well ventilated and lighted, and the air should have a certain humidity to prevent excessive dryness. If there are smokers at home, it is best to quit smoking or go outside to prevent the adverse effects of smoke on the child. 2, keep warm: temperature changes, especially the stimulation of cold can reduce the local resistance of the bronchial mucosa, aggravating the disease, so parents should increase or decrease the clothing of the child in time with the temperature changes, especially when sleeping to cover the child well, so that the body temperature is kept above 36.5 ℃. 3, feed more water: capillary bronchitis when there are varying degrees of fever, water evaporation is greater, should pay attention to the child to feed more water. You can use sugar water or sugar saline supplement, also can use rice soup, egg soup supplement. The diet is mainly semi-liquid to increase the body water to meet the needs of the body. 4, adequate nutrition: children suffering from capillary bronchitis nutrient consumption, coupled with fever and bacterial toxins affect the gastrointestinal function, digestion and malabsorption, so the lack of nutrients in the body of the child is not negligible. In this regard, parents should take a small number of meals for the child, give light, nutritious, balanced and easy to digest and absorb semi-liquid or liquid diet, such as thin rice, boiled noodles, egg custard, fresh vegetables, fruit juice, etc. 5.Turn over and pat the back: When the child coughs and coughs up sputum, it indicates that the secretion in the bronchus increases. To promote the smooth discharge of secretion, nebulized inhaler can be used to help expectoration. For infants, in addition to patting the back, you should also help turn the child and keep him/her in a semi-recumbent position to facilitate the discharge of sputum. 6, antipyretic: capillary bronchitis is mostly low to medium fever, if the body temperature is below 38.5 ℃, generally do not need to give antipyretic drugs, only physical cooling can be, mainly for the cause of treatment. If the body temperature is high, give physical cooling (warm water bath) at the same time, if necessary, the application of drugs to reduce the temperature.
