Can the latent phase of AIDS be cured?

The latent phase of AIDS cannot be cured. AIDS is currently a non-curable disease and most patients require long-term oral medication for maintenance. For patients with latent AIDS, if antiretroviral therapy is indicated, timely antiretroviral therapy is required, which is mainly related to the patient’s CD4 cells and the amount of HIV, and requires long-term medication. After antiretroviral treatment, most patients’ CD4 cells will gradually increase and the number of HIV will continue to decrease. If the number of HIV is undetectable, the patient is basically clinically cured and is not infectious. However, such patients cannot stop taking the medication, and if they do, it may lead to a relapse of AIDS.
