Phytodystrophy can involve multiple systems throughout the body and patients often feel a wide range of symptoms. It can manifest itself as postural hypotension: a decrease in blood pressure due to a change in position, commonly associated with dizziness, fainting and blurred vision; cardiac neurological symptoms: chest tightness, breath-holding, panic and a sense of near death. Gastrointestinal nerve symptoms: stomach pain, bloating, vomiting, diarrhoea, etc. Reproductive system symptoms: irregular menstruation in women, spermatorrhea and impotence in men, etc. Other symptoms: insomnia and forgetfulness, numbness in the limbs, heat in the heart of the hands and feet, heat in the skin around the body, wandering pain and abnormal sensations throughout the body, etc. These symptoms are often accompanied by mood changes such as nervousness, worry, fear, dread, anxiety and depression.
