Breast is an important organ in women’s body, which not only has the function of breastfeeding, but also is an essential organ to express women’s secondary sexual characteristics and women’s beauty and charm. Therefore, when women suffering from breast cancer learn that they have to have their breasts removed, it brings them not only physical defects, but more importantly, psychological pain. In recent times, since the recognition of breast cancer, the first choice of treatment for breast cancer is surgical excision, aiming at a complete eradication. With the development of medicine, the treatment of breast cancer includes curing the disease and improving the quality of life. Breast reconstruction is to rebuild a new breast at the same time of surgical mastectomy or several years after mastectomy, so that the patient can regain his/her physical integrity, and the quality of life will not be affected by the physical disability caused by mastectomy. Regardless of how the mastectomy is performed and whether or not the chest muscles are preserved, the appearance of the breasts is unacceptable, and in some cases the ribs can even be seen. Currently, with the improvement of medical care, different cases of patients can be treated separately for breast reconstruction, and there is no special limit on the age of patients. Regarding the time of reconstruction after mastectomy, it used to be advocated that it should be more than 1 year after mastectomy, but now it is believed that it can be reconstructed and repaired at any time, and patients after decades of mastectomy can also have their breast reconstructed, which is called delayed reconstruction, and mastectomy can be done at the same time, which is called immediate reconstruction. Even localized advanced breast cancer patients can be done to repair local defects. In the United States, Europe and other developed countries in addition to a small number of advanced tumors or serious systemic diseases, almost all mastectomy patients for breast reconstruction. Age is not an important factor affecting breast reconstruction; the general health status of the individual is more important. In reality, there are patients in their 60s who are now dancing and swimming after reconstruction, facing life positively and optimistically, and living a lively and healthy life in the human world. For various reasons, there are reports of breast reconstruction for patients in their 90s, as well as patients in their 30s who are unwilling to undergo surgery.
