Are the scars after the double eyelid surgery very obvious?

Many beauty seekers ask in the clinic: Is the scar especially obvious after having full eyelid surgery? In fact, you don’t have to worry about this problem. Generally speaking, there are no obvious scars left after double eyelid surgery, but if there is poor wound healing, bleeding and hematoma formation, infection in the wound or needle eye, cracking, etc., there may be obvious scars formed after surgery. Especially if the eyelids need to be repaired again after the first surgery for various reasons, the chance of leaving incision scars will be greatly increased, and the more times of repair, the higher the chance of scarring. The above picture shows a natural eyelid. When the natural eyelid is closed, there is little to no creasing of the upper lid skin. During the recovery period, the surgical wound slowly heals, improves, and the scar fades, then a faint white scar is left behind, which becomes lighter over time until it is not noticeable.
This process will take about six months or more, during which you can apply topical anti-scar medication, but be careful not to let the cream get into your eyes by mistake. Topical anti-scarring patches are not recommended for the eyelid area. First, they impede the smoothness of the curve of the eyelid, and second, repeated tearing of such patches can cause the upper lid skin to sag quickly. (The picture shows the upper eyelid skin after six months of total eyelid surgery) Does total eyelid surgery always result in scars? This is mainly related to the skill level of the surgeon and the fact that the surgical incision is not large, the operation is more delicate with less damage, and the incision is basically the same as the skin’s own grain. Of course, the facial blood supply is rich, not easy to be infected, the wound heals quickly, and the doctor’s treatment is correct so that the scars are not obvious. If multiple small incisions are chosen, the scars will be even less obvious. After double eyelid surgery, there is no obvious scar at the original incision, but there will be a mark left behind, some people show a blackish mark, some appear white marks, these are normal, if there is still a little red, that may be the performance of not fully recovered, and do not need special treatment. After the removal of the stitches, the surgical incision can still be seen as a scar, however, you need to wait for a half-year recovery period, and this obvious wound will become less and less obvious. (The picture above is at three months after surgery) What does scarring look like? When scarring occurs, the first manifestation of the local wound at the protrusion, thickening, redness, double eyelid shape appears not smooth, shallow or even distorted, etc., when it is best to see the doctor. How to prevent scarring after double eyelid surgery? First: find experienced and technically great plastic surgeons, who can technically operate finely as well as avoid excessive excision of the upper lid, and the precise alignment of the layers in the post-operative suture stage is also an important measure to reduce scarring; Second: wound cleaning after double eyelid surgery is crucial, if the wound is not clean, infection can easily occur, leading to the formation of double eyelid surgery scars. Double eyelid plastic surgery 1 to 2 days after the eye dressing can be removed, if there is blood scab or secretions on the wound, available medical saline wipe; Third: double eyelid plastic surgery after a long time do not watch TV, play cell phones, can not use the eyes too much. Do not consume spicy food in your diet, increase the intake of protein, and also eat more fruits and fresh vegetables. What if there are scars? 1.Early scar treatment: anti-scar medication can be used. If the scar proliferation is obvious and obviously protrudes from the surrounding normal skin, you can use scar injection, also known as tretinoin acetate injection, to make the scar soften and mature. However, this trick must be done by a doctor with pure skills, playing too much, or with a large diffusion range of drugs, will make the surrounding skin atrophy; 2. What if the scar hyperplasia has improved, but the scar is still obvious? Scar repair and re-cosmetic suturing is needed, combined with anti-scar treatment.
