Many patients consulting with us often request that the scar be removed completely. It is a misconception that it is not possible to remove the scar completely with any method or medication at this point in time. Surgical improvement of scarring is limited to shrinking the scar, making it less visible, or moving it to some hidden place. In this case, the patient had a scar on the side of the nose before surgery, and after a partial excision, the scar was reduced in size after one year. The patient needed one more keloidectomy to finally hide the scar completely from the nose, but there was still a line of scarring.
