Is a pulse rate of 101 normal?

A pulse of 101 beats per minute is not normal. The normal range for an adult’s pulse at rest should be 60-100 beats per minute, so a pulse of 101 beats per minute is considered tachycardic or rapid. The pulse rate tends to be consistent with the heart rate, except in patients with atrial fibrillation where the pulse rate may be less than the heart rate. If the patient’s pulse is 101 beats/min in the resting state, it is advisable to take drugs that inhibit sympathetic excitability and slow down the heart rate, that is, slow down the pulse, such as beta-blockers, representative drugs such as bisoprolol and metoprolol. These drugs are relatively effective, and also help prevent myocardial ischemia and improve left ventricular remodeling, and are very widely used in clinical practice. Patients are also advised to further identify the cause of the rapid pulse rate, such as whether it is due to anemia or ionic disorders.
