Not all of them necessarily need treatment, for example, senile leukoplakia, anaemic nevus and anaplastic nevus usually do not require treatment, and if they feel that they affect the aesthetics, cosmetic cover-up or epidermal graft treatment can be considered. In infants and children with white spots on the mouth, attention needs to be paid to the presence of hand, foot and mouth disease and further paediatric consultation is required. Attention should be paid to isolation from other children to avoid cross infection.
