Director Li: First of all, on behalf of my whole family, I would like to express my most sincere gratitude and highest respect to you. My wife, Gao Xuesong, was operated on in the Naval General Hospital in November 2013 for an auditory neuroma. 5 days after the operation, she had an intracranial infection, which was treated with conventional methods by the doctors of the Navy General Hospital with due diligence, using lumbar pool drainage and lumbar puncture drainage, combined with intravenous drip systemic administration of drugs. During this period, the cerebrospinal fluid specimen was tested and determined to be a fungal infection. The condition seemed to worsen, and the doctor’s concern became heavier. After four months, the condition did not improve, and the doctors were at their wits’ end, feeling helpless, and our family was even more worried, feeling that there was little hope for treatment. Li Xiaoyong of the Department of Neurosurgery of the General Hospital of Aviation of China Medical University was at a loss. When he was at a loss, he learned from a patient that the cerebrospinal fluid department of the Aviation General Hospital specialized in intracranial infections, and after meeting with Director Li and introducing his condition, he agreed to accept the treatment. So in late March 2014, he was transferred to the Department of Cerebrospinal Fluid of the General Aviation Hospital, where Dr. Li Xie received treatment. After a period of observation and treatment, Director Li resolutely denied fungal infection with his years of clinical experience. This saved a large amount of money and reduced the side effects of antifungal drugs. After three surgeries, the infection was finally cured, but during the period, the symptoms of nausea and vomiting and inability to eat appeared again, and the patient had to be kept alive by intestinal tube with nutritional fluid, and finally an abdominal shunt was performed. He was finally discharged from the hospital with a tube after 4 months. Now the patient is off the tube to eat, out of danger, the body is gradually recovering. Director Li’s name is Xiaoyong, but he is really very wise and brave. He is a brave explorer, innovative and diligent researcher, and has gone to the United States for further study. He has combined theory and practical experience to create a unique set of treatment techniques for hydrocephalus and intracranial infection, which is unique in China. Director Li is a leader in his field, and his excellent medical skills have saved many dying patients. Thanksgiving is the beginning of conscience, and I can say that Director Li has shown his gratitude to my wife, and it is difficult to express my gratitude. As the old saying goes, if you are not a good doctor, you are a good doctor. A good minister rules the country, and a good doctor saves people. They are both good for the country and the people. Both of them will be blessed and shade the future generations. Finally, we wish all the medical and nursing staff of the cerebrospinal fluid department good luck in their work and the patients recover as soon as possible.
