Pharmacology and Toxicology
Glucosamine sulfate is the normal constituent of cartilage matrix polysaccharide chain and joint fluid polysaccharide, which can stimulate the synthesis of physiological polysaccharide and proteoglycan by chondrocytes and the synthesis of hyaluronic acid by synovial cells. In addition, it can inhibit the activity of enzymes that damage cartilage, such as collagenase and phospholipase A2, and can prevent the generation of superoxide radicals in damaged tissues and inhibit the activity of lysosomal enzymes, so it shows a mild anti-inflammatory effect.
