Chronic prostatitis has an impact on men’s fertility

The prostate gland is shaped like an upside down chestnut and is an important accessory gonad organ for men. The prostate gland secretes prostatic fluid which has an important physiological function and is itself a mirror of male reproductive health. The normal adult man’s prostate gland secretes about 2mls of prostate fluid every day, the survival and movement of sperm need the prostate fluid to moisten, participate, especially when the sperm into the female vagina need the prostate fluid carefully “care”. The actual prostate fluid is a uniform, thin, milky white plasma fluid, which is weakly alkaline when normal and contains many enzymes. Other small molecules and enzymes in the prostate fluid dilute the sticky secretions of the cervix, facilitating the delivery of live sperm to the female reproductive organs for conception. If a disease occurs in the prostate gland, it can affect fertility in the following ways: 1. It affects the function of the prostate gland, such as insufficient protein to secrete liquefied semen, leading to liquefaction disorders and affecting fertility. 2, prostate disease leads to blockage of the ejaculatory duct, or retrograde ejaculation, leading to ejaculation disorders. 3, after suffering from prostatitis, the white cells in the prostate fluid interfere with the sperm fertilization ability, affecting fertility. 4, Some improper treatment of prostatitis can also lead to fertility problems. 5, prostatitis can easily lead to prostate neurosis, similar to neurasthenia, which affects sexual life and can have an impact on fertility.
