The chances of curing AIDS within 5 years are not very high, but hopefully AIDS will be cured as soon as possible. AIDS is a chronic infectious disease caused by infection with the human immunodeficiency virus. After the virus infection, it can cause the body’s immune function to decline and further lead to immune failure, and eventually various opportunistic infections and tumors, such as Kaposi’s sarcoma and lymphoma, etc. Serious infections include fungal infections and viral infections of multiple systems, which seriously affect the prognosis of patients and have a very high mortality rate. The current treatment of AIDS should be given highly effective anti-retroviral therapy, along with symptomatic management, in an effort to delay the patient’s condition and improve the patient’s quality of life. However, there is no mature program to cure AIDS completely, but very good progress has been made in research on AIDS treatment, and it is hoped that in the near future, an effective cure for AIDS will be available.
