In the autumn and winter, there are more and more patients with cerebrovascular accidents causing hemiplegia. After the occurrence of hemiplegia, many patients are depressed and can’t take interest in anything; and for patients’ family members, they are all heartbroken after their loved ones’ accidents and let the patients lie in bed all day, not allowing them to do anything. In fact, more and more clinical observations and studies have found that the earlier the rehabilitation intervention is carried out, the better the patient recovers. Generally speaking, after an ischemic cerebrovascular accident, rehabilitation should be carried out in a timely manner when the condition is stable for 2 to 3 days. Hemorrhagic cerebrovascular accidents can be postponed until 1 week after the condition is stabilized. In the early stage of hemiplegia, the limb is still in the stage of weakness. At this time, with the help of the healthy limb or relatives, there are several simple and easy exercise methods that are helpful for the recovery of the hemiplegic limb, and the patient and family members must seize this golden time of rehabilitation. Circumferential face washing The patient grasps the hemiplegic hand with the healthy hand so that the palm is extended, and then mimics the face washing action in the forward and reverse directions driven by the healthy hand, doing 2 to 3 groups of 10 times per day. This is because some stroke patients will have “hemiplegic neglect”, that is, they do not know the position of their affected limbs. As a case in point, it is common to see family members pulling the hemiplegic hand of a hemiplegic patient and asking, “Whose hand is this?” The patient will strangely reply, “Yours.” Half-bridge exercise The patient’s upper limbs are stretched out and placed on both sides of the body, and the lower limbs are in the bent hip and bent knee position, with the lower limbs on the hemiplegic side fixed by pillows or others, or the hemiplegic side foot is stretched on the healthy leg, and then the hip is lifted off the bed as far as possible and held for 10 seconds, repeated 5-10 times. The purpose of doing this is to exercise the strength of the patient’s lumbar muscles and lay the foundation for standing, turning, walking, etc. after healing. Stilts pendulum This movement is the common stilts in our life. It is done by bending the leg on the hemiplegic side and fixed by family members, then placing the healthy leg on the knee of the hemiplegic side and swinging the hip to the left and right driven by the healthy leg, repeating 20 times in each group, doing 2 to 3 groups per day. The purpose of doing this is to enhance the coordination of the limbs and trunk control to facilitate the patient’s walking.
