Beware of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases after typhoons

Although typhoon “Sula” and Wenzhou brushed past, but still brought cooling and rainfall. Experts reminded that the typhoon period, before and after the typhoon temperature difference is large, easy to induce respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Farewell to the typhoon, the temperature is obviously back up, more than 10 days after the typhoon is the high incidence of respiratory diseases. According to the statistics of the outpatient department of the Downtown Hospital (formerly the Second City Hospital), there is a small increase in the number of respiratory patients after typhoons every year, and common ones are colds, coughs and respiratory diseases such as chronic bronchitis, bronchitis and emphysema. Doctors explained that all of a sudden from the high temperature of the three volcanoes down to only twenty degrees Celsius, the human body at once difficult to adapt to the lower local temperature of the respiratory tract, capillary constriction, ciliary activity of the mucosal epithelium slowed down, at this time is very easy to induce respiratory diseases. For children, the original has adapted to the high temperature of the external environment, suddenly in the typhoon was changed, floating in the air with the change of substances, children are exposed to bacteria and viruses are prone to disease. “Summer is already a high incidence of respiratory and digestive tract diseases, and with the rainfall during typhoons, the environment becomes humid, leading to bacterial infections and illness.” Dr. Su Miao Yuan, a respiratory physician at Yuying Children’s Hospital affiliated with Wenzhou Medical College, suggests that to avoid bacterial growth after a typhoon, the home should first be kept dry. At the same time, for patients with coronary heart disease, who are extremely sensitive to temperature changes, it is also important to pay attention after a typhoon. Some studies have shown that the risk of myocardial infarction increases when the temperature drops suddenly. In general, the human body in a relatively low temperature environment, the average arterial pressure rises, and the myocardial oxygen demand index increases accordingly, which also has a certain impact on inducing cardiovascular disease. Post-typhoon period, doctors recommend that the public should also pay attention to dietary hygiene, avoid eating raw food, drinking raw water, tap water needs to be boiled before drinking.
