Tinea pedis, also known as rotten feet and athlete’s foot, is medically known as tinea pedis. It is mainly caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton spp., Petromyces spp. and Flocculina epidermidis, among which Trichophyton rubrum accounts for more than 50%. It has a high incidence in summer and autumn, and often appears to be heavy in summer and light in winter or to develop in summer and heal in winter; the incidence is more in the south of the Jianghuai Valley in China than in the north. The infection rate is very high, and the main mode of transmission is sharing shoes and socks, especially sharing foot wash basins, foot towels, slippers, etc. The treatment of beriberi is mainly based on external antifungal medication, such as bifenazole, terbinafine, naftifine ketoconazole, sertaconazole, etc. Choose one to two kinds to apply. If there is obvious exudation in the early stage, you can consider using topical 3% boric acid solution or yellow medicine water wet compress, and then apply medication after the wet out is reduced. Hyperkeratotic type without chaps can be treated with preparations with stronger exfoliating effect (such as compound benzoyl ointment or tincture, etc.), and with chaps milder preparations should be chosen (such as terbinafine ointment, etc.), and if necessary, sealant therapy can be used. If there is a combination of systemic fungal infections, or if topical medications are not effective, or if there is a combination of nail fungus, oral antifungal medications such as itraconazole, terbinafine, etc. can also be considered. And there are many people who think that foot odor is not curable and easy to relapse, this is related to people’s medication habits, a large proportion of people in a few days after the application of drugs, symptoms, itching significantly reduced or better, no longer continue to use, this time the fungus has not been completely killed, in certain triggering conditions on the relapse, so the application of drugs must be long enough, after the symptoms improve and then apply about two weeks. Do the following, you can effectively prevent the onset of foot fungus: (1) maintain good habits, change shoes and socks regularly, keep your feet dry and clean. (2) Do not wear poorly ventilated shoes and socks, keep your shoes dry, and actively treat hyperhidrosis if your feet sweat a lot. (3) Do not use public places such as hotels, swimming pools or share slippers, foot cloths, foot basins, bath towels, etc. within the family to avoid spreading the disease to each other. (4) In the family should promote separate sanitary ware, one person, one tool, separate use. (5) Avoid contact with acidic and alkaline substances as much as possible to reduce the skin irritation of the feet by acid and alkali. (6) Patients suffering from various fungal skin diseases, such as ringworm of the nail, ringworm of the hand, ringworm of the body and femur, and frequent contact with pets should be treated promptly to avoid further infection.
