Tinea pedis belongs to the category of foot dampness in traditional Chinese medicine, and the traditional Chinese medicines that can treat this disease include Si Miao Pill, Longdian Diarrhea Liver Pill, and Angelica Drink.
1. Si Miao Pill. It is composed of Cangzhu, Cow’s Knee, Salt Cypress and Coix Seed. It has the effect of clearing heat and inducing dampness. It is used for paralytic disease caused by dampness-heat infiltration (dampness and heat evils invading the intestines, bladder, pubic area, lower limbs, etc.), which is characterized by redness and swelling of the feet and knees, and pain in the tendons and bones. Pregnant women should be cautious.
2. Longdian Diarrhea Liver Pill. It has the effect of clearing liver and gallbladder, and promoting dampness and heat. It is used for dizziness, tinnitus and deafness caused by dampness-heat of liver and gallbladder, dystocia and bitterness of mouth (pain in the area of dystocia and ribs, bitterness in the mouth), redness of urine, and bringing down of dampness-heat. It should not be taken for a long time by people with weak spleen and stomach, and should be used with caution by pregnant women and people with stomach cold.
3. Angelica Drink. It is composed of Angelica sinensis, white peony, Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Tribulus Terrestris (fried), and Fenghuang, etc. It is mainly used for the treatment of skin sores and scabies caused by stagnation of the heart and blood, and internal wind-heat, such as swollen or itchy skin or pus and water soaking.
