What is the glans

The male penis can be divided into three parts: penis root, penis body and penis head, of which the head of the penis is made up of the front end of the urethral spongiosa, which is bulbous and commonly known as the glans. In case of circumcision, the glans will be covered. At the front end of the glans, there is the urethral opening, which is the common outlet for urine and semen, and the back end of the glans starts at the coronal sulcus. Understanding the glans should start from the following aspects, as follows: 1. Anatomical location: The glans is located at the very front of the male penis and begins at the coronal groove of the penis, which is spherical. According to the male penis foreskin, the foreskin will be too long will completely wrap the glans, under normal circumstances the glans is hidden in the foreskin, the penis is erect during sexual intercourse, the glans is exposed. When the foreskin is too long, the glans cannot be exposed and is prone to infection. We usually hear about circumcision, which is the cutting off of the excess foreskin on the penis so that the glans is exposed, which will not leave a dead end and lead to infection. 2, the characteristics of the glans: the coronal groove at the back end of the glans is easy to hide dirt, has caused infection of the penis, here more nerves, very sensitive, in the front of the glans there is a small hole, is the urethral opening, discharge urine, but also the discharge of semen outlet. The lower end of the glans is distributed with rich nerve plexus, which is the most sensitive part of the male penis. It plays a vital role in causing sexual excitement and ejaculation during sexual intercourse. The glans is also known as the head of the penis, and clinically many male urinary problems are caused by it, such as glans sensitivity, urethral infection, glans redness, pus, papules, blisters, etc. Do not refuse to seek medical attention for psychological reasons such as privacy exposure when abnormalities occur, it is recommended to seek medical attention and timely treatment.
