Penile Pearly Papules

Penile pearly papules may be a physiologic developmental variant. Damage is white, skin color, or reddish papules, shaped like small pearls, 1 to 3 mm in diameter, smooth surface, can also be sharp hairy or filiform, the rash is not fusion, along the posterior margin of the glans at the coronal groove arranged in a row or several rows, can be partially or completely around the glans. Mostly seen in adolescents, no self-conscious symptoms, the size of the rash for a long time without change, the persistence of the existence of up to several decades. Histopathology: a network of blood vessels surrounded by dense connective tissue and infiltrated by lymphocytes. Clinically, it should be differentiated from the following diseases: acuminous warts: the rash gradually increases in size in the form of corns or cauliflowers, and there is a history of unclean sexual intercourse. Sebaceous ectasia: occurs in the oral mucosa, penis, glans, for the yellow papules, histopathological examination for mature sebaceous gland lobules. Penile pearly papules are common and are a benign change, seen in 50% of men. Many adolescents are often nervous when they find this papule and mistake it for warts and go to the hospital. The papule is histologically characteristic of an angiofibroma and is not the result of a papillomavirus infection. The lesion is of little clinical significance and does not require management. As a clinician, one should have a proper understanding of this benign lesion and should give the necessary explanation to the patient to allay his concerns. So this disease does not require any treatment!
