How to remove a raised mole

Moles generally refer to pigmented nevi, and raised pigmented nevi can be treated with physical therapy and surgery. Pigmented nevus is a benign skin growth. Smaller pigmented nevi can be treated with carbon dioxide laser and electrocautery. Surgical removal is recommended for pigmented nevi with a diameter of more than 5 millimeters. When a pigmented nevus is painful, has a red halo around it, or becomes larger and darker in a short period of time, it is recommended to have it surgically removed and have a pathologic examination done in a timely manner. Moles usually do not need to be treated, but moles that grow in areas prone to friction are recommended to be removed in time to avoid the risk of malignant changes, especially in areas that are prone to friction or injury such as palms of the hands, soles of the feet, armpits, groin and shoulders. Treatment should be carried out at the dermatology department of a regular hospital and appropriate treatment options should be chosen under the guidance of a doctor.
