The symptoms of dryness and vomiting in the throat are often caused by a chronic inflammatory disease condition in the throat. Patients may have chronic congestion and swelling of the mucous membrane in the throat, and may also have excessive dryness and mucous phlegm, which may cause different degrees of dryness, pain, burning and foreign body sensation in the throat, as well as recurrent nausea and dry vomiting. Chronic inflammatory disease is often associated with excessive use of the voice, long-term exposure to air pollution, excessive smoking and drinking, and eating spicy and irritating foods. Some patients may have a combination of cysts, polyps, papillomas and other growths in the throat, which require further detailed examination.
