PPH surgery – a good way to treat moderate to severe hemorrhoids

As the saying goes, “nine out of ten hemorrhoids”, and there are a variety of treatments for hemorrhoids, and various advertisements and propaganda can be found everywhere, making it difficult to distinguish between right and wrong. What is the most reliable method of treatment and where to go for treatment? The purpose of hemorrhoid treatment is to relieve the symptoms, not to eradicate the hemorrhoid itself. Internal hemorrhoids are divided into 4 degrees according to the severity of the symptoms. 1-2 degrees are mild and can be treated conservatively, while 3-4 degrees are severe and often require surgery, and there are many drawbacks to traditional surgery. In the last decade or so, a new technique for treating hemorrhoids has emerged at home and abroad – suprahemorrhoidal mucosal circumcision, also known as PPH surgery. This surgery uses the PPH anastomosis to remove the rectal mucosa above the hemorrhoid in a circular fashion, restoring the normal anatomical position of the anal cushion, while blocking the terminal anastomotic branch of the terminal rectal artery, eliminating the root cause of hemorrhoids, with ideal results. Our department carried out PPH surgery earlier in China, and after more than ten years of continuous improvement, it has reached the domestic advanced level. It has been successfully applied to mixed hemorrhoids (3-4 degrees), circumferential hemorrhoids, severe hemorrhoid prolapse, prolapse, etc., and has achieved very good results. This surgery has the advantages of easy operation, short operation time, less bleeding, light postoperative pain and quick recovery than traditional surgery.
