About how is femoral head necrosis treated?

The key points of Chinese medicine for the treatment of femoral head necrosis are: early stage, necrosis extent less than 33%, and necrosis site within C1 area. If this principle is followed, it is possible to preserve the femoral head. Some patients are able to live their whole life without worrying about the development of the disease, such as the patient I uploaded. However, if the necrosis is extensive and the necrotic area is in zone C2, early surgery can preserve the femoral head; but it is very difficult to preserve the femoral head after stage 3 of such necrosis, with a success rate of less than 40% (my doctoral thesis research results). We need to recognize the key issues in the treatment of femoral head necrosis: how to prevent the femoral head from collapsing, how to correct the collapse, how to interrupt the process of recollapse after treatment, how to stabilize the internal structure of the femoral head, and if to promote necrosis repair. It is important to figure out the biomechanical changes and biological changes inside the femoral head after necrosis. Only by fully understanding the mechanism of changes after the pathogenesis of femoral head necrosis can we really treat femoral head necrosis well. Clinically, most femoral head necrosis often causes pain due to instability within the femoral head. After the collapse of femoral head necrosis, patients have difficulty walking due to pain for quite some time, at this time, they take some medication, including drugs to promote repair, etc. After treatment for a period of time, the internal structure of the femoral head enters a stable phase, and although patients have limited joint function, it does not affect their daily life because the pain is not severe or even painless. The patient has limited joint function, but the pain is not serious or even painless, and it does not affect daily life. At this point, it can be called clinical cure. Generally speaking, as long as the internal structure of the femoral head can be stabilized, even if there is a serious deformation of the femoral head, a significant number of patients do not have pain or the pain is not obvious. However, the collapse and deformation of the femoral head initiates the degeneration of the articular cartilage, and secondary osteoarthritis is inevitable, and sooner or later the pain will reappear and worsen, and some patients will eventually require artificial joint replacement. When we cannot stop the process of femoral head necrosis, artificial joint replacement is a reasonable and effective treatment, and we hope that you will not resist this method that has been widely proven to be reasonable and effective worldwide.
