How long does pregnancy sickness last?

The duration of pregnancy sickness varies from person to person and may last only a few days in short cases or up to 2 months in long cases. However, most of the pregnant women can have their pregnancy vomiting remitted or disappeared after a month or so. Early pregnancy vomiting is mostly a normal physiological reaction, mainly related to the increase of chorionic gonadotropin level in pregnant women. The chorionic gonadotropin level can reach its peak at 8-10 weeks of menopause, while after 12 weeks of menopause, the chorionic gonadotropin level decreases significantly. Therefore, the majority of pregnant women gradually experience pregnancy sickness after 6 weeks of menopause. After 12 weeks of menopause, i.e., about 3 months, the pregnancy vomiting reaction can be reduced or disappeared significantly. In addition, some pregnant women have abnormally high hormone levels, resulting in a slightly longer duration of pregnancy reaction, which may extend to 16-18 weeks. Women with early pregnancy vomiting need to pay attention to exclude multiple pregnancy, gravidity, liver disease and other conditions. Also, one should try to maintain emotional stability to avoid severe vomiting.
