How to determine whether mold or trichomonas

Patients can determine whether the infection is mycobacterial or trichomonas based on the nature of the vaginal discharge and accompanying symptoms. It is also recommended that patients who experience abnormal discharge or vulvovaginal itching seek medical attention in a timely manner to confirm the diagnosis of the causative organism through the appropriate tests and timely treatment. Clinical judgment is usually made in the following ways: 1. Mycosis fungoides: 1. Clinical manifestations: The main manifestations are pronounced vulvar itching and increased vaginal discharge. The vulvar itching symptoms last for a longer period of time, and those who are severe can be fidgety, and the symptoms can worsen at night. Vaginal discharge is white, curd-like or bean curd-like. Some patients may have burning pain in vulva, painful urination and painful intercourse. 2. Gynecological examination: erythema and edema of vulva can be seen, or accompanied by scratch marks, and in severe cases, skin is cracked and epidermis is peeling off. The vaginal mucosa is edematous, and the inner labia minora and vaginal mucosa are accompanied by white masses. 3. Laboratory examination: Wet film of vaginal secretions is taken and microscopic examination reveals budding spores or pseudomycorrhizae of Pseudohyphae. Trichomonas vaginalis: 1. Clinical manifestations: Clinical symptoms of vulvar itching can be seen, with itching mainly at the vaginal opening and vulva, or with burning and pain. The vaginal discharge is a thin, pus-like, foamy, grayish or yellowish-white substance, usually with a bad smell. It contains a large number of white blood cells and may be yellowish-green if combined with other infections. 2. Gynecological examination: the vaginal mucosa may be congested and in severe cases there may be scattered bleeding spots and even blood spots on the cervix, forming a “strawberry-like” cervix. In some asymptomatic infections, the vaginal mucosa may not show any abnormalities. 3. Laboratory examination: Wet film of vaginal secretions may be taken and microscopic examination may reveal Trichomonas vaginalis with undulating movements and increased leukocytes being pushed.
