The dangers of high thyrotropin

High thyrotropin indicates a poorly functioning thyroid gland. A range of hypothyroidism risks can occur. The main ones include heart problems, mental health problems, peripheral neuropathy, and reproductive health problems. Heart problems: It can lead to heart disease and even heart failure. Increased thyrotropin is often caused by a decrease in thyroid hormone, and reduced thyrotropin secretion can lead to increased LDL in the human blood, which can cause atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, and subsequent problems with blood supply to the heart, leading to heart disease, which cannot be effectively controlled and can lead to heart failure. Mental health problems: This disease can lead to mental apathy, drowsiness and other problems. Depression can occur when it is not effectively corrected over a long period of time. Depression may occur early in the course of hypothyroidism and may become more severe over time. Depression may lead to loss of a person’s ability to have normal interpersonal interactions, work, and study. Long-term psychological or psychotropic drug treatment is required. Peripheral neuropathy: Long-term uncontrolled hypothyroidism may cause damage to peripheral nerves. These nerves are mostly the body’s sensory and motor conduction pathways. Damage to these peripheral nerves can lead to a reduction or interruption of the body’s connection to the spinal cord and brain. It can cause problems such as numbness and pain sensitivity in the area of the lesion. Reproductive health problems: This condition can interfere with ovulation, which can affect fertility and potentially lead to infertility. The condition can lead to miscarriage, premature birth, and even low development of the fetus’ nervous system and body organs compared to babies born to healthy mothers, resulting in the birth of babies with low intelligence, elevated weight, and weight defects, which may develop into “cretinism”, a condition known as small and short size and mental retardation. High thyrotropin is a response to hypothyroidism. It is important to take care of these problems by giving active treatment.
