About the management of sexual partners of syphilis-infected patients

  1. If the sexual partner is serologically positive for syphilis, anti-syphilis treatment should be started immediately. 2. If negative, a repeat test after 6 weeks and again after 3 months is recommended, and if subsequent follow-up tests are not guaranteed, prophylactic anti-syphilis treatment is recommended. 3. If the sexual partner is not immediately available for serological testing, prophylactic anti-syphilis treatment should also be administered. 4. Early syphilis is highly contagious, therefore, those who have had sexual contact within 3 months should undergo prophylactic anti-syphilis treatment regardless of the serological test results.
