What’s wrong with chest tightness and shortness of breath in the first month of pregnancy?

If a patient has chest tightness and shortness of breath when she is about one month pregnant, the condition may be due to anemia or insufficient blood supply to the heart muscle. It may also be due to the patient’s high mental stress, recent poor rest, frequent exertion or frequent nausea and vomiting, which may also cause this chest tightness and shortness of breath phenomenon. Patients are advised to check serum ion, blood routine, thyroid function, and also to have a cardiac ultrasound and electrocardiogram to help further rule out the presence of organic lesions. If the patient has severe lower limb edema or abnormal blood pressure, it is recommended that the patient also have a BNP test to clarify the possibility of heart failure. Especially for patients with previous congenital heart disease, or who have had myocarditis, it is likely that they will experience chest tightness and shortness of breath after pregnancy.
