Ears should not be pulled out frequently

We often encounter patients with itchy external ear canals. There are various reasons for itchy external ear canals, among which is often due to frequent ear pulling. The cerumen secreted by the external ear canal itself, which is what we normally call earwax, keeps the external ear canal weakly acidic and prevents inflammation. Some people, however, often pull out their ears because of habit or because they feel that having earwax is unsightly. This may destroy the normal state of the external ear canal, plus the tools used for its pulling out are not clean, so it aggravates the chance of infection, causing symptoms such as itchy and painful ears. Some people are worried about the earwax, soon to accumulate to a piece of it? Don’t worry, since the Creator has created such a thin tube, it naturally has a function that is compatible with it, and the normal external ear canal will discharge these things. We don’t have to worry about it.       Another condition is cerumen embolism, where cerumen accumulates in the outer ear canal in clumps causing hearing loss, tinnitus, and pain. This is caused by the outer ear canal losing its ability to discharge cerumen for various reasons. In this case, it is necessary to go to the hospital to remove the cerumen. After the cerumen was removed, one patient said happily that he could hear the sound so clearly that there was an echo.
