Can subacute thyroiditis be treated with herbs alone?

Yesterday, I saw a woman with subacute thyroiditis in Daxing. She had been in Daxing for nearly three months and started to have pain in her thyroid gland with fever of about 38° every day, mainly in the afternoon and evening. I stopped all hormones, antibiotics and pain medication and switched to Chinese herbal medicine for treatment, and the temperature dropped to 37.5° after one week. In the past few years, I have never used western medicine in the treatment of subacute thyroiditis, using simple Chinese medicine for quick results and good results. I generally treat it from three aspects: first, fever-based focus on relieving fever; second, thyroid pain-based focus on relieving pain; third, atypical cases similar to pharyngitis, with pungent and cool clearing.
