Does novel coronavirus pneumonia cause itchy skin?

Patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia sometimes also have itchy skin, with skin manifestations mainly on the trunk and extremities. Among the early cutaneous manifestations of novel coronavirus pneumonia, erythema and papules are first and most common. This is followed by papules, vascular lesions including petechiae, petechiae, purpura, frostbite appearance, or Raynaud’s phenomenon, cherry angiomas, purplish papules on the extremities, and urticaria. Then there is a rash that can manifest as a chickenpox-like rash or even a scaly rash. The most prominent phenomenon in severe cases or advanced cases is the frostbite like lesions, which tend to occur on the extremities. The lesions initially appear as pale red macules, similar to frostbite for about a week, and gradually deepen in color to purple, which may resolve on their own. These lesions may be painful, sometimes itchy, and sometimes asymptomatic.
