Can rotator cuff injuries heal on their own?

Whether a rotator cuff injury can heal on its own depends on the severity of the injury. A mild rotator cuff injury can heal on its own, while a severe rotator cuff injury requires surgery. Most rotator cuff injuries are the result of chronic strain or impingement and may heal spontaneously with systematic treatment. The exact condition is determined by the strength of the rotator cuff injury. If the rotator cuff injury produces minor friction with the acromion or is caused by impingement, it can be relieved by conservative treatment to achieve self-healing. Limit the abduction of the affected shoulder arm to no more than 90 degrees, and also reduce the range of motion of the affected upper extremity. If the condition is severe, such as a rotator cuff rupture, or even a complete rupture or avulsion fracture, it will not heal on its own. Surgery and rehabilitation are required for improvement. Shoulder and elbow injuries may require temporary avoidance of physical activity to reduce pain. Usually, you should pay attention to rest and not overexert yourself. When resting, you should choose a firm bed and adopt a supine position as this is more conducive to recovery.
