Is chronic vaginitis contagious?

Chronic vaginitis can only be transmitted through contact, including sexual contact or contact with unclean objects, such as an unclean place to sit. In addition, chronic vaginitis is less likely to be transmitted through intimate underwear. With chronic vaginitis, patients may exhibit a variety of symptoms such as abnormal leukorrhea, odor, and itching. Prevention of chronic vaginitis requires attention to hygiene and protection in daily life, including removal of leukorrhea secretions whenever possible; keeping clothing in contact with the skin and vulva clean; cleanliness of sexual partners; and increasing one’s knowledge of prevention.
