Diabetic patients treating H. pylori can take a combination of proton pump inhibitors, antibiotics, and bismuth agents, as well as standardized use of hypoglycemic drug therapy. Patients with H. pylori infection should be treated with triple therapy under the guidance of a doctor, i.e. two antibiotics combined with a proton pump inhibitor or a bismuth agent, such as metronidazole, amoxicillin combined with omeprazole. In addition, diabetic patients should be treated with hypoglycemic drugs as prescribed by the doctor, such as metformin, acarbose or injectable insulin therapy, to keep the blood glucose control within a reasonable range. Diabetic patients who develop H. pylori infection should go to the hospital for consultation and standardized treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
