Can hip preservation treatment for femoral head osteonecrosis fail and then be replaced with an artificial joint? What are the results?

Our clinical studies over the years have shown that the vast majority of femoral head necrosis can achieve the desired outcome after our hip preservation treatment, avoiding or greatly delaying the time to artificial joint replacement, although there are of course a few cases of failure. Artificial joint replacement can still be used in patients with either early failure (within 3 years) or distant (10 to 15+ years) onset of osteoarthritis. So far we have not found any significant difference in surgical difficulty, rehabilitation process and final outcome between using artificial joint replacement after failed hip preservation treatment for femoral head necrosis and artificial joint replacement for other hip diseases.
