How long does it take for bronchitis to heal?

  How long it takes to cure bronchitis varies from person to person and cannot be generalized.  Bronchitis includes acute bronchitis and chronic bronchitis. Acute bronchitis is usually caused by bacterial or viral infection resulting in edema or increased mucus in the bronchial mucosa. By applying effective antibiotics to control the infection and combining it with phlegm-suppressing drugs, it can generally be cured in about 1-2 weeks. In some patients with low resistance, the course of the disease may be as long as 3-4 weeks before it is completely cured. In contrast, chronic bronchitis, due to recurrent episodes or more than 2 episodes per year, more than 3 months per year and 2 years of continuous episodes. Therefore, the course of treatment for chronic bronchitis is longer and may take up to about 3-4 months, and is closely related to air pollution, smoking, and a spicy diet.  In addition, patients with bronchitis need to pay attention to a light diet, avoid spicy and stimulating diet; at the same time, pay attention to quit smoking, quit drinking, avoid public places with a lot of people and bad air, and drink more water.
