Ventilator-associated pulmonary infection, also known as ventilator-associated pneumonia, is a lung infection that occurs after prolonged use of a ventilator. The severity of ventilator-associated pneumonia is closely related to the patient’s condition. Therefore, the duration of mechanical ventilation should be minimized to avoid ventilator-associated pneumonia.
