At work, I am often asked: Doctor, my ultrasound report shows abnormal development of the uterus. Now a good science. The uterus is an important part of the female reproductive system. It has many roles: menstruation, conception of the fetus, and maintenance of the integrity of the pelvic floor! As mentioned earlier, the amount of menstruation and the thickness of the endometrium are related to menstruation, so I won’t go into the details. I will not dwell on the second article: conception of the fetus. A normal uterus and uterine cavity is extremely important for the fertilized egg to be laid, for the placenta to be attached, for the fetus to develop and grow, and for the fetal position. The normal shape of the uterus is like an inverted pear in the pelvis. It is regular in shape and full in form. Abnormal uterine shape are: 1, the bottom of the uterus is sunken, saddle mounted, called saddle-shaped uterus, or bow-shaped uterus. 2, only one horn of the uterus, called unicornuate uterus. 3, on the contrary, the bottom depression and its obvious, double-horned uterus. 4, stump horn uterus: two uterine cavities, one cavity is very small and does not want to connect with the normal uterine cavity. 5, double uterus. The abnormalities of uterine cavity morphology are: longitudinal uterus, classified as complete, incomplete. Uterine shape can be determined by ultrasonography or laparoscopy. Abnormal uterine cavity morphology can be determined by hysteroscopy. In addition, if the uterus is abnormal, a simultaneous urological ultrasound is recommended. Usually, uterine developmental abnormalities are not isolated and are often combined with cervical, vaginal and urological developmental abnormalities.
