The generic name for afatinib is afatinib maleate tablets, the effect of taking half a tablet is not clear, normally you need to swallow the whole tablet with water. This drug can inhibit tyrosine kinase phosphorylation, thus inhibiting the growth of tumor cells and treating tumors. It is mainly used for metastatic or locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer. The most common adverse reactions to this drug are diarrhea and skin-related adverse events, stomatitis, and onychomycosis. Generally, lowering the dose reduces the incidence of common adverse reactions. If diarrhea is severe, go to the hospital for symptomatic treatment such as rehydration and anti-infection. Patients should also be monitored for bone marrow suppression. This product is contraindicated in persons with known hypersensitivity to afatinib or any of the components. During the use of this medication, it should be taken as prescribed by the doctor and it is recommended that the whole tablet be swallowed with water, not half.
