How many premature ventricular contractions in 24 hours is normal

Ventricular premature beats should not occur in normal people. If the number of premature ventricular beats is less than 100 in a day, it is considered as physiological premature beats and can be treated without treatment. Premature beats are premature heart beats caused by ectopic pacing points and are classified as atrial premature beats, junctional premature beats and ventricular premature beats. Physiological premature ventricular contractions can be caused by lack of sleep, fatigue, strong tea or coffee, and generally do not affect health. If the frequency of premature beats exceeds 5 beats/minute, or exceeds 500 beats/24 hours in an ambulatory electrocardiogram, it is called frequent ventricular premature beats, and patients with more than 2000 beats/24 hours can take pharmacological intervention. If the number of premature beats increases significantly in a short period of time, or if symptoms of discomfort in the precordial region such as panic, chest tightness and chest pain occur, patients should promptly seek treatment at the Department of Cardiology.
