What is antiphospholipid antibody syndrome

Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome is a general term for a clinical sign caused by antiphospholipid antibodies. Antiphospholipid antibodies are a group of antibodies that can react immunologically with a variety of antigenic substances containing antiphospholipid structures, mainly lupus anticoagulant, anticardiolipin antibody, antiphosphatidic acid antibody and anti-phosphatidylserine antibody. Clinical manifestations associated with antiphospholipid antibodies include thrombosis, habitual abortion, thrombocytopenia, and neuropsychiatric symptoms. Thrombosis is the main clinical manifestation of antiphospholipid antibody syndrome, and can occur in any part of the body. The most commonly affected vessels are the peripheral vasculature, cerebral vessels, and vessels of the heart, lungs, kidneys, and other organs, and thrombosis is usually solitary.
