Cup ear is a congenital deformity between the ear and microtia syndrome, and is more common bilaterally. There are 4 characteristics of cup ear: 1. the ear is curled; 2. the ear is tilted forward, i.e., the ear is beckoning; 3. the ear is smaller, mainly the length of the ear is shortened; 4. the position of the ear is low, often accompanied by jaw and face deformity. The surgery is usually performed after 6 years of age. For complete correction of cup ear deformity, all anatomical defects in all parts of the ear should be repaired. For mild to moderate deformities, partial auricular reshaping can be performed; for severe deformities, partial auricular reconstruction is often required to be effective.
