Kissing someone with AIDS is not normally contagious. This is because the prerequisite for transmission is that both partners have broken skin and the broken skin happens to be in contact with each other, so that is when the risk of transmission arises. However, as long as one partner’s skin is intact, there is usually no risk of transmission. There are actually 3 ways of transmission of HIV, the first one is mainly through sexual contact, the second is vertical transmission from mother to child, and the third is blood transmission. Fundamentally, it’s all through blood transmission. Therefore, through kissing, as long as there is no obvious break in the skin of one of the parties, it is generally safe not to transmit AIDS.
