Shaanxi Eye Research Institute Youth Myopia Prevention and Treatment Center (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) is a scientific research institution specializing in youth myopia prevention, control and research, as well as youth eye care work, established under the joint support of the Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and the Provincial Department of Health. “Based on the advanced scientific research work of Shaanxi Provincial Eye Research Institute, the Center has carried out a lot of scientific research work in the field of youth myopia and eye health care for a long time, contributing to the responsibility and obligation of youth eye health care work in our province. ”The Center has the following programs to prevent and treat myopia: 1. Establishing optometric files The Center is the first in Xi’an to establish optometric tracking files for adolescents’ visual physiological development to assess the development of their vision and provide targeted early detection, prevention and treatment. The Center is the first of its kind in Xi’an to set up an optometric follow-up file on the visual physiological development of adolescents. At present, the Center has established three-year or five-year optometric files for some students in nearly 10 schools according to their grade levels, and regularly follows up on various parameters of students’ visual acuity. 2. Binocular vision function and visual training The Center is the first in Xi’an to conduct binocular vision function examination and visual training. For patients with myopia, amblyopia, post-operative strabismus rehabilitation and visual subhealth, the optometrist will develop a whole set of individualized visual training programs to improve the visual quality of patients, improve their visual behavior and raise the abnormalities of visual function to the normal range, which will not only solve the visual subhealth of patients, but also prevent the development of myopia. This program is also suitable for young and middle-aged people who use their eyes excessively to restore and improve their normal visual function. 3. Corneal contact lenses (RGP) and keratoplasty lenses (OK lenses) For young people with rapid myopia growth, the Center uses the most advanced high oxygen permeability rigid corneal contact lenses (RGP) and night wear keratoplasty lenses (OK lenses) at home and abroad to control myopia development on top of visual training. By wearing specially designed lenses on the cornea, the specific distribution of corneal epithelium is created through fluid mechanics and other factors, which greatly improves the peripheral retinal defocusing phenomenon that causes myopia development and effectively controls the development of myopia and the further growth of the eye axis. The lenses are easy to use, they can be worn at night while sleeping, and the next day they can restore normal vision. 600 degrees or even 800 degrees of myopia can quickly achieve a vision of 5.0 or higher within 1-2 weeks. Since the establishment of the Center in 2008, thousands of cases of RGP and OK lenses have been successfully carried out, and the business is at the leading level in the province, and relevant professional papers have been published in domestic optometry and ophthalmology journals, which fully demonstrates that these lenses can really effectively control myopia and astigmatism deepening. 4.Scientific and professional frame glasses fitting “Center” has been insisting on scientific and professional frame glasses fitting process.
