Treatment of follicular pharyngitis is mainly etiological and symptomatic.
Etiological treatment is the main treatment for follicular pharyngitis and includes: active treatment of acute pharyngitis, rhinitis, sinusitis or other diseases that trigger follicular pharyngitis; cessation of smoking and alcohol, avoidance of exposure to dust, harmful gases, spicy and stimulating diets, etc.; and enhancement of physical exercise to strengthen one’s constitution.
Symptomatic treatment includes laser ablation, electrocoagulation or cryosurgery to treat lymphatic follicles in the posterior pharyngeal wall, and oral pharyngeal tablets for pain relief and anti-inflammatory treatment.
