(II) Diet adjustment
Patients with colon and rectal cancer have recurrent and persistent diarrhea and weak digestive ability, so they should be given food that is easy to digest and absorb. Patients with colorectal cancer mostly have blood in stool, and advanced patients often have a lot of blood in stool, so they should take less or no stimulating and spicy food. Patients with prolonged diarrhea or advanced patients with long-term fever, sweating and damage to fluid, so it is appropriate to drink more water or soup, and the main food can be mainly semi-liquid diet such as porridge and noodles. Patients mostly have symptoms such as loss of appetite, nausea and even vomiting, so it is advisable to take light diet and avoid greasy. Patients with advanced colorectal cancer have prolonged diarrhea, blood in stool, fever, large amount of nutrients and water loss, emaciation, weight loss, and deficiency of both blood and gas, so it is appropriate to take nutritious tonic juice diet.
The recommended remedies are as follows.
(1) Amaranth and mung bean soup: 120g of fresh amaranth (or 60g of dried product) and 60g of mung bean. 500ml of decoction with water. 1 to 2 times daily for 2 to 3 weeks. It is suitable for patients with damp-heat accumulation. This formula is not suitable for people with spleen deficiency and diarrhea.
(2) Fresh kiwifruit: 250g of fresh kiwifruit, eaten raw daily. Or decoction as tea, better eaten together. Suitable for patients with damp-heat type of colorectal cancer.
(3) Red bean and coic rice porridge 50g of red bean and soaked raw coic rice. Boil them on a gentle fire, add rice to make a congee, and add sugar to serve. It is suitable for patients with damp-heat colon cancer. It can be taken for 10 to 15 days.
(4) Bergamot Congee: 15g of Bergamot, 100g of round-grained rice and appropriate amount of rock sugar. Decoct bergamot soup and set aside. Boil japonica rice with appropriate amount of water as porridge, and then add bergamot juice and rock sugar into porridge and boil it slightly. Take once a day for 10-15 days. Suitable for the treatment of patients with abdominal distension manifestations of this disease.
(5) peach blossom porridge fresh peach petals and japonica rice. Boil a thin porridge and take once every other day for 7 to 14 days. It is suitable for those who have constipation with dry heat, and should not be taken for a long time.
(6) Stewed chicken with ginseng 30g, 30g Radix et Rhizoma Polygonati, one old hen (about 1500g), appropriate amount of seasoning. Remove the guts of the chicken and wash it, put Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng, Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng and seasoning into the belly of the chicken, stew the meat and drink the soup. It is suitable for patients with cancer tumor for a long time and spleen and kidney Yang deficiency.
(7) Walnut and lotus meat cake: 100g of walnut, 300g of lotus meat (core removed), 60g of gravy powder, 500g of glutinous rice, boil the walnut and lotus meat with water and mash them into a puree. Soak glutinous rice in water for 2 hours, then steam it in a basin with the peach meat, lotus meat and gravy powder, cool it slightly and cut it into pieces, sprinkle with sugar. Take it once a day in the morning and once in the evening at your discretion for 10-15 days. It is suitable for patients with spleen and kidney yang deficiency type of intestinal cancer.
(8) Chasteberry and wolfberry pig liver: 30g of chasteberry, 30g of wolfberry, 250g of pig liver and appropriate amount of seasoning. Decoct chasteberry and wolfberry with water for 30 minutes, add pork liver pierced with bamboo skewers and cook for 30 minutes with moderate heat. Add seasoning and slice for consumption. Suitable for patients with liver and kidney yin deficiency type of intestinal cancer.
(9) Chinese wolfberry, Chinese wolfberry 30g, Chinese yam 30g, chasteberry 15g, ripe groundnut 15g. Add water and stew over moderate heat until cooked. Remove the chasteberry, add seasoning and serve. Suitable for patients with liver and kidney yin deficiency type of intestinal cancer.
(10) Fresh mulberry 1000g (or dried 500g), chasteberry 100g, mulberry 100g, white honey in appropriate amount. Extract the juice from the decoction of chasteberry and mulberry, add mulberry and decoct it for a long time, and take the decoction once every 30 minutes. Add water to the decoction again, take the decoction for 2 times and combine, concentrate with low fire until thicker, add 300g of honey, boil and cease, wait until cold and bottle. Drink 1 tablespoon each time with boiling water, 2 times daily. It is suitable for patients with liver and kidney yin deficiency type of internal heat bleeding, and has good effect.
(11) Astragalus Monkey Head Soup: 150g monkey head mushroom, 30g astragalus, 250g tender chicken, 15g ginger, 20g white onion, 250g broth, 100g cabbage heart. 30 minutes after the expansion of monkey head mushroom in warm water, wash and cut into slices, chicken chopped into small cubes, stir-fry and stew with the water of monkey head mushroom and a small amount of broth for about 1 hour, fish out the chicken and monkey head mushroom slices, soup under the cabbage heart can be slightly boiled, divided into discretion. The soup can be slightly boiled, divided into discretionary doses, even 10 to 15 days. It is suitable for patients with intestinal cancer with deficiency of both qi and blood.
(12) Astragalus ginseng and jujube porridge 300g of raw astragalus, 30g of ginseng, 15g of licorice, 100g of round-grained rice and 10 jujubes. Decoct raw Astragalus, Radix Codonopsis and Licorice to extract juice. Boil round-grained rice and jujube together, and mix them into the juice after the porridge is ready, and take them in the morning and evening. Take for 10 to 15 days. Suitable for patients with Qi and blood deficiency.
(13) Mushroom porridge: 30g of fresh mushroom (or 9g of dried product), 30g of red glutinous rice, plus salt, oil and monosodium glutamate. Take on an empty stomach. It is suitable for the prevention of colorectal cancer and the adjuvant treatment of early rectal cancer or the rehabilitation treatment after surgery.
(III) Spiritual Conditioning
Spiritual conditioning of bowel cancer patients is very important and has a direct impact on the long-term curative effect of the disease. Most of the patients have a vague understanding of cancer and think that “once you have cancer, death is coming”. Therefore, medical personnel should politely explain scientific knowledge about colorectal cancer to help them understand the disease and build up confidence. They should treat the disease correctly, encourage patients to set up future life goals, overcome mental and emotional tensions, and be psychologically prepared to undergo treatment to achieve life goals.
