How long can you live with colorectal cancer?

Survival of colorectal cancer patients is related to factors such as tumor stage, patient’s physical condition and treatment. Colorectal cancer, including colon cancer and rectal cancer, is a more common malignant tumor. Early stage colorectal cancer patients do not have obvious clinical symptoms, some patients may have symptoms such as indigestion and fecal occult blood, etc. More than 90% of the patients have radical resection through surgery, and their survival period is around 5-10 years. Patients with advanced colorectal cancer mainly show symptoms such as abdominal pain, blood in stool, intestinal obstruction, abdominal mass, etc., which may be accompanied by systemic symptoms such as fever, emaciation, etc. Patients who are able to be resected by surgery have a survival period of about 3-5 years; those who are unable to be resected by surgery have a survival period of about 1-2 years. Patients with colorectal cancer must go to gastroenterology or oncology department of regular hospitals in time, keep optimistic mood, actively cooperate with doctor’s treatment, and avoid spicy and stimulating food.
