Topical antibiotic ointment can be used after mole removal to prevent infection of the wound.
A mole is a melanocytic nevus, a benign proliferation of melanocytes. The usual treatments are laser treatment, electrocautery or cryotherapy. After mole spotting, topical erythromycin ointment or mupirocin ointment is usually needed to prevent infection.
After mole spotting, you should keep the spotting area dry and clean, do not contact with dirty water or direct contact with hands to avoid wound infection. Eat less spicy, greasy and stimulating food and do not drink alcohol. Avoid sunlight on the wound, so as not to cause hyperpigmentation, especially after the scabs fall off for a period of time, especially pay attention to sun protection.
Mole spotting and the use of drugs should follow the doctor’s advice.
