Sciatica Location

Sciatica is characterized by the distribution of pain along the pathway of the sciatic nerve. The main areas of pain are in the buttocks, posterior thighs, posterior lateral calves, and feet. If the lesion causing sciatica is in the nerve root, the pain may be aggravated by increased pressure in the spinal canal due to coughing, for example. The presence of sciatica can be seen in a variety of etiologies, such as sciatica caused by factors such as cold, compression of the nerve root by a herniated lumbar disc, osteoarthrosis of the lumbar spine, congenital malformations of the lumbosacral region such as lumbar sacralization and invisible spina bifida, rheumatoid, and sacroiliac arthritis. This condition needs to be differentiated from diseases such as fibrous tissue inflammation of the hip and lumbar strain. And we need to do the examination to clarify the cause and then carry out the targeted treatment.
