Dietary recommendations for abdominal pain

Different methods of treatment are used for different causes of abdominal pain, and it is impossible to say exactly which treatment is best.
Most chronic abdominal pain can be improved by home care or dietary modification. When acute abdominal pain occurs, it should be treated professionally in hospital as soon as possible. Most abdominal pain diagnosed as acute appendicitis will require prompt surgical treatment. Abdominal pain due to acute pancreatitis is mainly conservative in internal medicine, and in case of organ failure, the patient needs to be admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) for supportive treatment. For abdominal pain caused by gastroduodenal ulcers, drugs to suppress stomach acid, drugs to protect the gastric mucosa and eradication of Helicobacter pylori should be chosen.
