Does a pregnant woman’s constipation and straining affect the fetus?

Pregnant women who are constipated and push have certain effects on the fetus, which may cause premature rupture of membranes, infection and the risk of fetal death in the uterus.
1. Premature rupture of membranes: prolonged exertion by pregnant women will increase the pressure in the amniotic cavity, and if there are weak membranes and vaginal inflammation, it may increase the risk of premature rupture of membranes, and premature rupture of membranes occurs in mid-pregnancy, which requires timely abortion.
2. Infection: some pregnant women close to the due date and full-term, constipation and exertion of premature rupture of membranes, the fetus is not delivered as scheduled, will increase the risk of infection. Once intrauterine infection occurs, the newborn may develop severe pneumonia, meningitis and other diseases.
3. Fetal death in the uterus: In a few cases, pregnant women pushing may experience placental abruption, resulting in fetal death in the uterus, or even bruising in the myometrium, which ultimately leads to uteroplacental stroke.
Pregnant women are advised to adopt good dietary habits to avoid constipation. In case of discomfort, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination.
